The Kang Nachugo is a mountain in the Himalayas in the Rolwaling Himal mountain range .

The 6735  m high Kang Nachugo is located in the Gaurisankar Himal mountain range on the border between Nepal ( Janakpur administrative zone ) and Tibet . The Kang Nachugo is 12.5 km southeast of the Gauri Sankar ( 7134  m ). The Chekigo ( 6257  m ) forms a western secondary peak of the Kang Nachugo.

The Rolwaling Chu flows in a westerly direction along the southern flank of the ridge . The Drogpa Nagtsang glacier stretches on the north flank and the Ripimo-Shar glacier on the east flank .

Ascent history

The Kang Nachugo was first climbed on October 17, 2008 by the two Americans Joe Puryear and David Gottlieb . After attempting to climb the southern flank, the two climbers reached the summit via another ascent route that led over the west ridge.

The 6640  m high east summit was built by Santiago Padros and Domen Kastelic on 21/22. First climbed in October 2013 via the southwest face. The ascent route is called Monsoon (1500 m, 75 °).
