The Chekigo is a peak in the Himalayas in the Rolwaling Himal mountain range .
The 6257 m high Chekigo is located in the Gaurisankar Himal mountain range on the border between Nepal ( Janakpur administrative zone ) and Tibet . The Chekigo is located 10 km southeast of Gauri Sankar . It forms a western secondary peak of the Kang Nachugo ( 6735 m ). West of the Chekigo is a 5616 m high pass. The Rolwaling Chu flows in a westerly direction along the southern flank of the ridge . The Drogpa Nagtsang glacier extends on the north flank .
The Chekigo is listed in the “A” category of trekking peaks of the Nepal Mountaineering Association . The summit is on the Great Himalaya Trail trekking route . The Chekigo has been open for ascents since 2002. A permit is required. In the years 2006-2010 there were only eight smaller groups of climbers who tackled the summit.
In November 2014, the Spaniards Jordi Corominas, Manu Córdova and Jonatan Larrañaga climbed the south face to the summit. They called their route Straight To The Top (1200 m, VI, M6, AI5 / +).
