The canton of Collasuyo is an administrative district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The canton ( Bolivian : Cantón) Collasuyo was until 2009 one of nine cantons of the then administrative district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Puerto Acosta in the province of Eliodoro Camacho . By law of 2009, the municipality of Puerto Acosta was divided into the three independent municipalities of Puerto Acosta , Escoma and Humanata , so that the canton of Collasuyo is now one of four cantons of the municipality of Escoma.
The canton of Collasuyo borders in the north and east on the canton Escoma in the municipality Escoma , in the west on Lake Titicaca , in the south on the canton Península de Challapata also in the municipality Escoma, and in the southeast on the canton Puerto Carabuco in the municipality Puerto Carabuco .
The canton extends between about 15 ° 40 '55 "and 15 ° 42' 10" south latitude and 69 ° 07 '40 "and 69 ° 09' 10" west longitude, it measures about two kilometers from north to south and from west to the east also about two kilometers. The canton of Collasuyo is located on the Bolivian Altiplano between Lake Titicaca in the west and the Cordillera Muñecas in the east. The climate of the region is a typical daytime climate , in which the mean temperature fluctuations between day and night are more pronounced than between the seasons.
The mean average temperature of the region is 8 to 9 ° C, the monthly averages fluctuate only slightly between 5 and 6 ° C in June / July and 10 ° C in November / December.
