The canton of Villa Puni is an administrative district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The canton ( Bolivian : Cantón) Villa Puni was one of nine cantons of the then administrative district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Puerto Acosta in the province of Eliodoro Camacho until 2009 . By law from 2009, the municipality of Puerto Acosta was divided into the three independent municipalities of Puerto Acosta , Escoma and Humanata , so that the canton of Villa Puni is now one of four cantons of the municipality of Escoma.
The canton of Villa Puni borders in the north and east on the canton Escoma in the municipality Escoma , in the west on the canton Puerto Parajachi in the municipality Puerto Acosta , and in the south on Lake Titicaca .
The canton extends between about 15 ° 38 '30 "and 15 ° 40' 30" south latitude and 69 ° 10 'and 69 ° 11' 15 "west longitude, it measures four kilometers from north to south and two kilometers from west to east Kilometers. The canton of Villa Puni is located on the Bolivian Altiplano between Lake Titicaca in the west and the Cordillera Muñecas in the east.
