The Kantschalan ( Russian Канчалан ) is a river in the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug in northeast Siberia .
The 426 km long river flows through a sparsely populated tundra -Landscape in northeastern Anadyrtieflands south before the Kanchalan-Liman , a northern side of the bay Anadyr , opens -Ästuars. The Kantschalan drains an area of 20,600 km². The main tributaries are Tnekweiem and Impeneikuiym from the right . A few kilometers before its mouth, the river passes the Kantschalan settlement of the same name . Beluga whales can be found regularly in the kantschalan estuary . The river is frozen between mid-October and early June. The lower 50 km are navigable.
