Kardorf is a district of the town of Bornheim in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Rhein-Sieg district on the left bank of the Rhine . The settlement that emerged on the slope of the foothills shows traces of Roman times, which are already documented by the course of the Eifel aqueduct, which was built in the 1st century AD and touching the place . The first mention of the place is documented by a document of the emperor Barbarossa , in which on September 17th, 1156 the place "Kardorph" was mentioned. Kardorf currently has a little more than 1,800 inhabitants (as of 2014).

geography
