Dersdorf is a district of Bornheim in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district .

geography

Dersdorf is located on the foothills north of the city center of Bornheim. The state road 183 and the Vorgebirgsbahn run east of the town center . Landesstraße 182 is located in the southern area .

Dersdorf borders on other Bornheimer districts: in the north on Waldorf , in the south on the Bornheim center and in the southwest on Brenig .

history

In 1897 Dersdorf received a station on the foothills railway that was put into operation that year . In 1903 the village was connected to the power grid. In 1926 a school was built. After many years of preliminary planning, the construction of a separate parish church for the village, which had previously belonged to the parish of Brenig , was finally started in the spring of 1932 according to plans by the Cologne architect Hermann Neuhaus, which was consecrated that same year. It was the first church ever to be consecrated to the Dominican scholar Albertus Magnus, who was canonized the previous year .

The federal highway 555 can be reached in the north via the junction Wesseling and in the south via the junction Bornheim. The federal motorway 61 can be reached via the country road 182 at the Swisttal junction. Another federal motorway is the 553 , which can be reached via Landstrasse 183 at the Brühl / Bornheim junction.
