Karen Holdsworth

Karen Holdsworth (born Moody , formerly Goldhawk ; born August 2, 1960 , † April 30, 2013 in Darlington ) was a British marathon runner .

In 1981 she was under the name Karen Goldhawk sixth in the London Marathon in 2:43:28 h and won the premiere of the Great North Run half marathon in South Shields . In 1983 she won the Paris Marathon in 2:51:08 and the Berlin Marathon in 2:40:32 under the name Karen Goldhawk . In addition, she won 3 more half marathons in her career, 1983 in York and 1984 in Reading and Fleet . In 1985 she set her personal best as second in the Berlin Marathon with 2:35:18.
