Karen Stramm (born August 16, 1961 in Güstrow ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and was a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from 2011 to 2016 . She was a full-time employee of the GDR State Security .

Life and professional history

Karen Stramm grew up in Sternberg . She was employed in the GDR since 1980 as a full-time employee in the border control at the inner-German border (in Horst and Zarrentin ) for the State Security . After the reunification, she took up work at the Hagenow District Court and completed a course of studies at the Güstrow University of Applied Sciences while completing her degree with a degree in legal clerkship .

politics

Karen Stramm joined the SED in 1979 . She belonged to the municipal council of Wittenburg from 1990 to 1994 for the PDS , since 2009 she has had a mandate in the district council of the Ludwigslust district . From October 2011 to 2016 she was a member of the 6th state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and on February 1, 2012 she was elected deputy chairman of the study commission "Getting older in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania".
