Karim Sandschabi ( Persian کریم سنجابی; * September 1904 in Kermanshah , Empire of Persia ; † July 4, 1995 in Carbondale , Illinois ) was an Iranian politician and a member of the National Front .

The Kurdish Sandjabi was born in Kermanshah in 1904 and studied law and political science at the Sorbonne University . He then became a professor of law at Tehran University .

From January 19, 1952 to February 6, 1953, he was Iranian Minister of Education in the cabinet of Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh . From 1967 Sandjabi was Secretary General of the National Front , which he remained until 1988. After the violent Islamic revolution against the monarchy in 1979, Sandjabi was briefly foreign minister under Mehdi Bazargan, from February 11 to April 1 of this year.

In 1982 Sandjabi had to leave the country because he criticized the newly created Islamist dictatorship under Ruhollah Khomeini . Sandjabi was married to Fachrolmoluk Ardalan Sandjabi (September 7, 1921 - February 21, 2011) and had four children - three sons and a daughter.
