Life

Ali Gholi Ardalan studied in Tehran and Berlin , where he received his doctorate in law and a doctorate in political science. He joined the foreign service in 1922 and served in Washington, DC from 1922 to 1923 , in Berlin from 1926 to 1932, again in Washington, DC from 1932 to 1934, and from 1936 in Paris. From 1940 he headed the third political department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in 1943 he was transferred to Ankara as counselor, where he served as envoy from 1946 to 1948. From 1948 to 1949 he was first state secretary and then acting foreign minister. From 1950 to 1955 he was a representative of the Persian government at the UN headquarters . From 1951 to 1954 he headed the Persian delegation to the peace treaty of San Francisco . From 1952 to 1954 he was an agent for narcotics. In 1953 he took part in the international opium conference. In 1955 he was Minister without Portfolio and Minister for Raw Materials and Industry.

From 1955 to 1958 he was Foreign Minister. From 1958 to 1960 he was ambassador to Washington, DC From 1960 to 1961 he was the representative of the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company in the southern province. From 1961 to 1962 he was ambassador to Moscow . From 1962 to 1965 he was ambassador in Bonn . In 1967 he headed the telephone authority in Tehran .

After Black Friday (September 8, 1978), Amir Abbas Hoveyda resigned from the office of court minister and Ali Gholi Ardalan was appointed as his successor in this function. This portfolio included the administration of the Pahlavi Foundation , an institution for the commercialization of power.
