Karin Friedrich (born February 18, 1925 in Marburg ; † November 27, 2015 ) was a German journalist and author .

Live and act

Karin Friedrich was the daughter of Ruth Andreas-Friedrich and Otto A. Friedrich , who later became President of the Confederation of German Employers' Associations . Like her mother and her partner Leo Borchard, she belonged to the Uncle Emil resistance group during the Nazi era .

After the Second World War she was engaged as an actress at the Hebbeltheater in Berlin for five years . In 1950 she shifted her professional focus to Munich to journalism , where she mainly dealt with socio-political issues. After a job at the magazine Echo der Woche and an internship at the Südpost , she worked as a reporter and editor for the Süddeutsche Zeitung from 1953 until her retirement in 1992 .

In addition, Karin Friedrich was involved in the White Rose Foundation and the helpers group living together - ProAsyl . In 2004 she was honored as Righteous Among the Nations by the Yad Vashem Memorial .

She later lived in Gauting and died on the night of November 27, 2015.
