Karin Lindberg

Karin Lindberg (born July 5, 1915 in Hamburg , † May 1, 2008 in Düsseldorf ) was a German table tennis player . She was German champion in doubles.

Career

Lindberg moved from Hamburg to Düsseldorf in 1940. After the Second World War she was one of the best players in Germany. She joined the TTC Blau-Weiß Oberkassel association. In 1948 she took fourth place in the ranking. Her partner in doubles was usually Hilde Bussmann . With her she had reached the final at the International German Championships in 1937/38 and with her she became German champion in women's doubles in Heppenheim in 1947 . In addition, she reached third place in the singles and mixed with Erich Deisler in 1947 . In the DM 1948 and 1949 she was third in the individual, in 1949 she also reached the semi-finals in mixed with Bernie Vossebein . Once she was nominated for an international match.

From 1949 she played at PSV Borussia Düsseldorf . An illness affected her career, so that after 1949 there were no further outstanding successes.

Private

Karin Lindberg was not married. From 1946 to 1984 she and her friend Hilde Bussmann ran a lottery and toto acceptance point in Düsseldorf.
