Karin Nyman

Karin Nyman , née Lindgren, (born May 21, 1934 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish translator and writer . She is the daughter of Astrid Lindgren .

Working life

Karin Nyman began her professional life in the literary world as a translator. Among other things, she has translated works from the following languages ​​into Swedish: English, French, German, Danish, Norwegian.

In 1965 Karin Nyman began to write her own books (mainly children's books).

Private life

Karin Nyman is the daughter of Sture (1898–1952) and Astrid Lindgren, née Ericsson (1907–2002). According to her own statements, Karin Nyman came up with the name " Pippi Longstocking " at the age of seven .

Karin Nyman has been married to Carl Olof Nyman since 1958. They have four children together: Charles John (born 1959), Malin (born 1961), Nils (born 1964) and Olle (born 1968). The latter is the CEO of Saltkråkan AB , which manages Astrid Lindgren's literary estate. Among other things, the theme park " Astrid Lindgrens värld " (German: Astrid Lindgren's World) is operated in Vimmerby .
