Karin Strempel

Karin Strempel born Schneider (born August 27, 1961 in Meißen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She was a member of the Saxon State Parliament from 1990 to 2014 .

Life

After graduating from EOS in Meißen in 1980, Karin Strempel completed an apprenticeship as a salesperson by 1981. She then studied at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management until 1985 . After graduating as a graduate economist , she worked as a research assistant at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management from 1985 to 1988 , then moved to the economic control department of the HO district office in Dresden . In 1989 Strempel took on the position of group leader for accounting and statistics at Elbtal-Tiefkühlkost in Lommatzsch . In 1990 she moved to the Meißen district office , where she worked in the auditing office.

Accompanying her work as a member of parliament studied Strempel 2005-2008 at the University of Magdeburg-Stendal ( FH ). In 2007 she graduated there with a degree in health management and in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree .

Until the spring of 2006, Strempel was chairwoman of the DRK district association in Meissen. From 2004/2005 to 2012 she was President of the Saxon State Association for Health Promotion . In addition, she was in the network against colon cancer and on the supervisory board of Elbland Klinik Meißen GmbH. Strempel is committed to people with rare diseases, such as children and young people with cystic fibrosis .

Karin Strempel has been a member of the CDU since 1979 . From 1984 to 1986 she was a member of the Leipzig Northeast district, and from 1986 to 1988 a member of the Leipzig District Parliament .

Karin Strempel has been a member of the Saxon state parliament since 1990. She always moved into the state parliament through a direct mandate in the constituency of Meissen 1 . In the 2nd electoral term Strempel was deputy chairwoman of the budget and finance committee. In the third electoral term, from November 1999 to October 2004, she was chair of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health, Family and Youth. In the 4th electoral term (2004–2009) Strempel was a member of the budget and finance committee, the committee for social affairs, health, family, women and youth and the 1st committee of inquiry of the 4th electoral period for Landesbank Sachsen . In the 5th electoral term, Strempel was a member of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport, the Committee on Social Affairs and Consumer Protection, and health policy spokeswoman for her group. She did not stand for election for the 2014 state elections.
