Karl-Emil Kuntz

Karl-Emil Kuntz (born February 18, 1958 in Landau in the Palatinate ) is a German chef .

biography

From 1973 to 1976 Kuntz completed an apprenticeship as a chef at the Hotel Körber, from 1976 to 1978 an apprenticeship as a pastry chef at Café Kuntz, both in Landau in the Palatinate. He then worked in various restaurants, including a. at Eckart Witzigmann .

Since 1984 he has been head chef at the Zur Krone restaurant in Herxheim near Landau , district of Hayna, which has been family-owned for several generations .

Restaurant Zur Krone is currently gourmet guide Gault Millau rated 18 out of 20 points, his second restaurant Pfälzer Stube with 15 possible 20 points. The Michelin Guide has rated the Zur Krone restaurant 1 out of 3 stars. In the Schlemmer Atlas , the Zur Krone restaurant has 4 out of 5 crossed cooking spoons, the Palatinate room 3 out of 5.

In 2018 he handed over the successor as head chef to his youngest daughter Erika Kuntz (24) together with her partner Fabio Daneluzzi, who trained at Kuntz.

Karl-Emil Kuntz is a member of Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe .
