Karl-Heinz Brusselsbach

Karl-Heinz Brüsselbach (* 1946 / 1947 ) is a former German ministry official . He was President of the Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD) between 2010 and 2012 .

Life

Brusselsbach started working for Verfassungsschutz verbund in 1979. From April 2008 to April 2010, Brusselbach was the permanent representative of the head of office before becoming President of the Military Counterintelligence Service in May 2010. As the first President of the MAD, he gave an interview for the June / July 2012 issue of Y magazine , where he spoke about the role and situation of the MAD. On July 1, 2012, he retired and was replaced by Ulrich Birkenheier . In November 2012, Brusselsbach had to speak to the Bundestag Investigation Committee on the terrorist group National Socialist Underground . He was criticized because of his testimony by chairman Sebastian Edathy , as he had not clarified the MAD's contacts with Uwe Mundlos during his tenure .
