Karl-Heinz Losch

Karl-Heinz Losch (born December 5, 1942 in Heilbronn ; † February 9, 2012 in Heilbronn- Kirchhausen ) was a German roller skater and later a local politician ( FDP ).

Life

Sports

Losch came to art skating through his two older sisters and began this sport at the age of seven at REV Heilbronn . He won his first world championship in 1958. By achieving a total of five world championship titles, he was considered the most successful roller skater of all time for many years and received an entry in the Guinness Book of Records . Since 1989 he has shared this title with the Italian Sandro Guerra , who also won five world championships. In 1967 he ended his sporting career. He later volunteered for the REV Heilbronn.

Education, work and family

The Heilbronn- from Böckingen originating Losch made in 1962, when he was already three times World Champion, at Heilbronner Justinus Kerner-Gymnasium the High School . In addition to his sporting career, he then did an apprenticeship as a carpenter in his parents' company and then studied architecture. After successfully completing the course, he married and from now on concentrated on his job and his family. He worked as a freelance architect. His wife Jutta, with whom he had three sons, died in 2002. He himself died on February 9, 2012 at the age of 69.

Losch had been a member of the Heilbronn municipal council since 1971 and was first deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group. He was also a member of the Heilbronn- Kirchhausen district advisory board . Shortly before Christmas 2011 he was honored by the mayor for 40 years of membership in the city parliament.

Honors and prizes

Karl-Heinz Losch received the Silver Laurel Leaf in 1961 . In 1966 he received the Golden Mint of the City of Heilbronn.
