Karl-Heinz Stanzel

Karl-Heinz Stanzel (born March 29, 1958 in Ellwangen (Jagst) ) is a German classical philologist .

Life

He first studied psychology , philosophy , Catholic theology , then Latin studies and philosophy, and finally also Greek studies at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen , the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the University of Regensburg . He received his doctorate in 1987 at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and completed his habilitation in Tübingen in 1994 . In 1984 he became a research assistant at the Philological Department of the University of Tübingen, then a research assistant and later a temporary academic advisor at the Institute for Classical Philology at the University of Würzburg (1984-1992). He has been Academic Councilor since 1992 and Academic Senior Counselor at the Platon Archive in the Philological Department of the University of Tübingen since July 2000.

His main research interests are Greek philosophy ( Plato ) and bucolic ( Theocritus ).
