Karl-Winfried Seif
Karl-Winfried Seif (born November 16, 1943 in Limburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ), former State Secretary . D. and former member of the Hessian state parliament .
Karl-Winfried Seif is widowed, has five children and ten grandchildren.
education and profession
Karl-Winfried Seif began his professional career with an apprenticeship as a radio and television technician . Seif then studied electrical engineering and graduated in 1967 with a degree in engineering . He then worked in the technical field service of the Deutsche Bundesbahn from 1967 to 1980 . Between 1980 and 1989 he was a member of the main board of the German Railway Workers' Union , where he was most recently deputy head of department for corporate and company policy.
Karl-Winfried Seif was head of the ministerial office in the Hessian Ministry for Environment and Nuclear Safety from 1989 to 1991 .
From 2009 to 2016 Seif ran an engineering office in Limburg . Areas of activity were: Consulting, engineering, mediator and renewable energies .

From 1991 to 1994 Seif was a directly elected member of the state parliament in the Limburg-Weilburg I constituency .
In 1994 he was elected First District Member of the Limburg-Weilburg District. After the state elections in Hesse in 1999 , Prime Minister Roland Koch appointed him to the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs as State Secretary .
From April 2003 to February 2009 he was State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry for the Environment, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection .

Karl-Winfried Seif has been a member of the state board of the VdK Hessen-Thuringia since 2011, he was elected as state chairman in 2013 and gave up the office in 2017. In 2014 Seif was elected Vice President of VdK Germany .
Honorary office of the Hessen Chamber of Engineers
Karl-Winfried Seif has been a member of the Hessen Chamber of Engineers since 1987 and became an honorary member there in 2014. From 2009 to 2014 Karl-Winfried Seif was the chairman of the specialist group “Renewable Energies” of the Hessen Chamber of Engineers .
Since 2017 he has been chairman of the technical commission for specialist engineers (IngKH) "Barrier-free planning and construction" of the Hessen Chamber of Engineers . Seif has been chairman of the supervisory board of Ingenieur-Akademie Hessen GmbH since 2011 .
Voluntary work in local politics
In the period from 1972 to 1994 Seif worked on a voluntary basis in local politics. In his hometown of Limburg an der Lahn and the district of Limburg-Weilburg, he was temporarily involved as mayor, city councilor, district councilor and district member. In 1999 he was appointed "City Elder".
