Karl Aletter
Karl Aletter (born July 8, 1906 in Mannheim , † March 29, 1991 in Kaiserslautern ) was a German rower of the twentieth century.
Career
Aletter took part in the Summer Olympics in 1928 and 1932 and, together with Hans Maier , Walter Flinsch and Ernst Gaber, won the silver medal in the four without a helmsman in 1932 , after having achieved fifth place in 1928.
In his career he won a total of eight German championship titles, four each in eight and four without. For many years he was deputy chairman of the German Rowing Association , of which he was made an honorary member in 1970. Aletter did his doctorate in medicine and later practiced as a specialist in internal diseases in Kaiserslautern, where he died at the age of eighty-four.
