Edouard Brisson
Édouard Brisson (born November 18, 1882 in Buenos Aires ; † September 17, 1948 there ) was a French racing car driver who also had Argentine citizenship.
Career
Édouard Brisson was one of the best drivers in the Le Mans 24 Hours of the 1920s and 1930s, but never won the race. He made his debut in 1924 as a works driver for Lorraine-Dietrich and was able to finish the race in second place overall. In the two following years he was also in the top three of the overall ranking. In 1925 he finished third behind his teammates Gérard de Courcelles and André Rossignol and a works Sunbeam . He was able to repeat this result in 1926 .
Brisson actually wanted to retire from racing when he was persuaded by Charles Weymann in 1928 to drive his Stutz racing car at Le Mans. In the race that same year, he and Robert Bloch were beaten by Woolf Barnato and Bernard Rubin's Bentley by just a few kilometers .
Brisson competed in sports cars for Stutz until 1932 and then retired from racing.
