Karl Beckersachs , also Carl Beckersachs (born as Karl Nikolaus Beckersachs ; born September 26, 1881 in Neuenhain , † March 31, 1951 in Bad Kreuznach ) was a German actor .

Life

He spent his school days in Darmstadt and began as a volunteer at the court theater there . In 1906 he received his first permanent engagement in Aachen . In 1909 he came to the Schillertheater in Berlin .

In 1912 he began his career as a silent film actor. Beckersachs made a name for itself as a gallant lover of Henny Porten, among others . In the age of talkies, it was only considered twice. He shot his last film in 1936, and in 1938 he headed the Theater am Kottbusser Tor. His last sign of life dates back to 1944, when he ran his own small touring theater.
