Karl Bruckmaier (* 1956 in Lower Bavaria ) is a German presenter, critic, author and radio play director.

Career

Karl Bruckmaier studied communication science, political science and American cultural history. Since 1978 he has moderated music journalistic programs on Bayerischer Rundfunk (Club 16, Zündfunk , Nachtmix, Nachtsession) on a regular basis . From 1985 to 1987 he was editor of the BR magazine Zündfunk. From 1981 to 2018 he wrote pop reviews for the Süddeutsche Zeitung .

He began his career as a radio play director in 1989. In the early 1990s, he initiated the first poetry slams in Munich .

From 2011 to 2013 he was a member of the “Open Project Funding” jury of the German Federal Cultural Foundation .

Karl Bruckmaier lives in Munich.
