Life

Metz was a merchant in Heilbronn and was a member of the town council until 1869 . When, from February 1 to June 26, 1849, Heilbronn's city councilor August Klett went to the Frankfurt National Assembly in place of the resigned Louis Hentges , Metz ran the business as its administrator.

In the first election for the constitution-revising state assembly on August 1, 1849, Metz ran in the Heilbronn constituency (which included the city and upper office of Heilbronn ), but could not prevail against the democrat August Ruoff . In the next regular election to the Chamber of Deputies in 1851, Metz ran and was elected in the city of Heilbronn. In 1856 and 1862 he was re-elected; in January 1863 he resigned from the mandate. Adolf von Goppel was elected as his successor .

family

Metz married Rosine Lang in 1826. His son Friedrich Metz (* 1827) emerged from the marriage.
