Karl Dillinger
Karl Dillinger (born October 14, 1882 in Karwin , Austrian Silesia , † January 22, 1941 in Dirmstein ) was a German painter and art teacher .
Dillinger was the son of a master brewer and studied from 1899 to 1902 at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Karlsruhe and from 1902 to 1906 at the Stuttgart Art Academy . He then took part in courses at the Académie Julian and was a student of Adolf Hölzel and Robert von Haug . Before he switched to teaching at the Badische Landeskunstschule Karlsruhe in 1924 , he worked as a freelance painter in Mannheim . In 1926 he was given a professorship , which was revoked from him in 1933 for political reasons by the National Socialist rulers. In the following years he worked as a freelance artist in Grethen, Palatinate, and finally died in Dirmstein.
