Karl Ferdinand Kratzl
Karl Ferdinand Kratzl (born November 27, 1953 in Vienna ) is an Austrian cabaret artist , actor and author.
Life
He began his career in the theater. Between 1971 and 1974 he was a member of the “Youth Drama Group”, then until 1976 with the “Ensemble K”. From 1978 until 1982 he worked with the “ Serapionstheater ”. In 1991 he worked for one season at the “ Schauspielhaus Wien ”. This was followed by the first films (1989: Landlaufiger Tod, director: Michael Schottenberg at Paulus Manker's side ), as well as the Salzburger Stier awards and the German Cabaret Prize in 1992. In 1997 he had a prominent supporting role as Mündl in Hinterholz 8 .
In 1997 and 98 he played under Felix Dvorak's direction at the Berndorfer Festival, first as Oskar in "Tales from the Vienna Woods" and then as the district director in "Zwölfeläuten".
He gained greater fame from 1998 as Mr. Claus in the successful Austrian television series MA 2412 and in the movie of the same name. In 2000 he published the book “Au! Look: Heaven, Jö! “, A collection of absurd short stories. In 2001 the play “Justus Neumann kills himself with the iron”, which he wrote together with Justus Neumann , was premiered. In 2002 his play "Parzifal" was premiered. In 2008 his play "The Concert of the Frogs" was premiered as puppet theater for children from 3 years in the Viennese puppet theater LILARUM .
From November 2008 he was on stage in the Phönix Theater in Linz in the successful farce “Der Zwerg ruft”. From January 12th, 2009 he ponders a marriage with Adolf Hitler in Phönix's own production "In Love with Adolf" , whereby the stars are consulted, a love horoscope is created and an insight into a fictional coexistence is given. Theo Helm is contributing the music for this satire .
