Karl Fromml

Karl Frömml (born September 7, 1807 in Vienna ; † January 1, 1889 there ) was the master builder and mayor of the formerly independent municipality of Floridsdorf .

builder

Fromml founded a master builder in Floridsdorf in 1839. In 1855 he built the steeple of the monastery church Maria Immaculata of the school brothers in Strebersdorf .

mayor

In the formerly independent community of Floridsdorf he was first elected to the community committee, later to the community council. From 1869 to 1876 he was mayor. For the first time with its own parish hall, before that the mayor's office was in his home. In 1872 he introduced public gas lighting , before that kerosene lamps were still in use. Several new alleys were created during his tenure. In 1874 the district of Jedlersdorf am Spitz , the left-hand settlement on Brünner Strasse, became part of the Floridsdorf community.
