Karl Friedrich Good

Karl Friedrich Good (born September 8, 1841 in Sargans , † October 19, 1896 in Mels ) was a Swiss lawyer and politician .

biography

After attending primary school in Mels and the Catholic school and the district school in St. Gallen Karl Friedrich Good studied from 1859 to 1862 at the universities of Munich , Heidelberg and Zurich law . In Heidelberg he joined the Corps Helvetia in 1861 .

After completing his studies, he took over his father's law firm in Mels in 1863. From 1895 to 1896 he was President of the Court of Cassation of the Canton of St. Gallen . As a liberal politician, he was a member of the St. Gallen Grand Council from 1879 to 1882 and from 1885 to 1896 , and as its president in 1881, 1885, 1889 and 1896. At the federal level he was a member of the Council of States for the canton of St. Gallen from 1886 to 1896 .

Karl Friedrich Good was one of the leading figures in the liberal party in the canton of St. Gallen.
