Karl Friedrich Sick
Karl Friedrich Sick (also: Carl Friedrich Sick , born May 21, 1780 ; † June 6, 1837 in Stuttgart ) was a royal Württemberg economist and councilor . He made an outstanding contribution to the design of the Cannstatter Kurpark and therefore became an honorary citizen of the city in 1818 .
Life
Karl Friedrich Sick was a son of the court chamber councilor Johann Daniel Sick. In 1824 he bought the Roseck estate , which had previously been a state domain. According to Eberhard Emil von Georgii-Georgenau, Sick made the "barren heath [...] one of the most beautiful and fertile estates" and also took care of the decaying castle estates. However, the estate is said to have passed into the possession of the wealthy Rudolf Bernus as early as 1826.
Sick was particularly concerned with the refinement of the soil and agricultural products. A memorial was set for him because he made a contribution to the design of the facilities on Sulzerrain in Cannstatt. It is located in the Bad Cannstatter Kurpark above the Kursaal .
Sick married Ernestine Jakobina Dörtenbach from Calw on January 24, 1804 in Magstadt . The marriage resulted in six children between 1805 and 1821, including their son, born in 1820, who later became Finance Councilor Paul von Sick . Carl Friedrich Sick was buried in the Hoppenlaufriedhof in Stuttgart .
