Dmytro Sacharowytsch Bilokolos (* January 23 . Jul / 5. February 1912 greg. In Jehoriwka , yekaterinoslav governorate , Russian Empire ; † 9. February 1993 in Kiev , Ukraine ) was a Ukrainian and Soviet politician. Bilokolos was Foreign Minister of the Ukrainian SSR from March 16, 1966 to June 11, 1970 .
biography
Dmytro Bilokolos was born in the village of Jehoriwka ( Ukrainian Єгорівка ) in what is now Wolnowacha Raion in the Ukrainian Donetsk Oblast . Bilokolos graduated from the pedagogical school in Berdyansk by 1931 and then worked as a teacher in Stalino and Makijiwka . In 1936 he studied history at the University of Kharkov and then worked until 1941 as a history teacher and head of a secondary school. From 1941 to 1945 he was a soldier in the Red Army in the German-Soviet War . After the war, Bilokolos was head of the Propaganda and Agitation Department and secretary of the Donetsk City Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine between 1947 and 1952 . From 1952 to 1955 he studied at the Academy for Social Sciences of the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow . From 1955 he was head of the Department of Science and Culture and Secretary of the Communist Party of the Donetsk Regional Committee.
In 1966, under the chairmanship of the Council of Ministers of the USSR Vladimir Shcherbitzky , he took over the vacant office of Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian SSR from the acting incumbent Anatolij Kysil ( Ukrainian Анатолій Степанович Кисіль ) and in this role he headed, among other things, the delegation of the 21st USSR. until the 24th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York . 1970 Heorhij Schewel (ukr. Георгій Георгійович Шевель ) took over the office of Foreign Minister and Bilokolos was extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the USSR in Zambia and Botswana until 1976 . Bilokolos retired in 1976 and died in Kiev in 1993.
Honors
Bilokolos was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class, the Order of the Red Star , the Medal “For the Defense of the Soviet Arctic” and other awards.
