Kostyantyn Andrianowytsch Mazijewytsch ( Ukrainian Костянтин Андріанович Мацієвич ; born May 6, jul. / 18th May  1873 greg. In Deremesna , Kiev Governorate , Russian Empire ; † 2. April 1942 in Prague , Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia , German Empire ) was a Ukrainian Agronomist, politician and diplomat. He was Foreign Minister of the Ukrainian People's Republic from February to April 1919 .

Life

Kostjantyn Mazijewytsch was born into a priestly family in what is now the Ukrainian Oblast of Kiev . In 1899 he graduated from the Agricultural Institute in Nova Aleksandria , where he was already the leader of the Ukrainian student body. Following his studies, he worked for agricultural organizations and as a teacher. From 1917 he was a member of the Ukrainian Radical Democratic Party (UPSF) and a member of the Central Na Rada and a member of the Small Council. In 1918 he was part of the Ukrainian delegation in the peace negotiations with Soviet Russia and in 1918/1919 he led the talks with the Entente .

From February 13 to April 9, 1919 he was Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Ukrainian People's Republic in the government of Serhiy Ostapenko , and from 1919 to 1923 he was the Ambassador of the Ukrainian People's Republic to Romania . In 1923 he emigrated to the First Czechoslovak Republic , where he was a professor at the Ukrainian Business Academy in Poděbrady . From 1936 he was chairman of the Ukrainian Scientific Association and the Ukrainian Diplomatic Club in Prague.

Among other things, he wrote in 1917 The Most Important Principles of Land Reform in Ukraine , 1931 The Agricultural Policy of the USSR in the Light of the Current Crisis and his memoirs, The Life of My Contemporaries .
