Karl Golgowsky (born November 11, 1910 in Hüsten ; † 1994 ; also Karl Golgowski, also working under the pseudonym Bert Roda ) was a German pop singer , composer and songwriter .
Life
Golgowsky completed his baritone vocal studies with Adolf Erlenwein in Dortmund and with Julius von Raatz-Brockmann in Berlin . He worked as a leader of various male, female and children's choirs and as a music teacher.
He became widely known as a songwriter, pop singer, leader and member of various vocal groups in the 1950s. Golgowsky formed the original Schuricke trio together with Rudi Schuricke and Horst Rosenberg . Together with Wyn Hoop , he performed as the duo Die Fellows . Other formations include Rodgers-Gesangs-Duett , Die Wandergesellen and Die Rixdorfer Sänger .
Between the late 1940s and the mid-1960s, he led the Golgowsky Quartet, which played hits in changing formations, mainly composed and written by Golgowsky himself, and was thus successful in the German charts. The quartet also appeared together in film and television productions such as The Great Star Parade (1954) and For the New Year - the New Game (1956). The quartet included Rudi Stemmler, Herbert Klein, Curt Papenberg, Heinz Stenzel, Friedel Wende and Wyn Hoop.
Golgowsky composed and wrote more than 400 hits such as “Käthe, you have so straight seams”, together with Friedel Wende, “On May 30th is the end of the world”, “Hau ruck, all nine are falling again” and “Schwarzwaldmarie”.
