Karl Gustav Zumpe

Karl Gustav Zumpe (born October 13, 1819 in Hohnstein ; † July 3, 1900 in Stollberg ) was a German lawyer and conservative politician .

Live and act

The son of the District Acciseinspector Karl Moritz Zumpe in Neustadt in Saxony received his first training from a private tutor. From September 1832 to March 1839 he attended the Princely School of Grimma , whereupon he studied law at the University of Leipzig until 1842 . In 1842 he started working as an actuary in Meißen and in 1844 took over the patrimonial courts in Dörnthal . In 1845 he moved to Sayda , where he settled down as a lawyer and took over the office of mayor. In the same year he married Maria Bräuner (* 1829). A short time later he entered the Saxon civil service . From 1846 he worked as an actuary at the Lauterstein Justice Office, and from 1850 as such in Zwickau . In 1855 he was promoted to judicial officer von Lengefeld . From 1860 to 1867 he was a magistrate in Kirchberg and finally from 1867 until his retirement in 1894 in Stollberg. In addition, from 1879 he was chief magistrate in Stollberg.

From 1871 to 1877 he represented the 36th rural constituency in the Second Chamber of the Saxon State Parliament . He held the office of Deputy 1st Secretary of the Chamber in the Landtag in 1875/76.

In 1894 he was made an honorary citizen of Stollberg.
