Karl H. Fell

Karl H. Fell (born December 16, 1936 in Erkelenz ; † December 5, 1996 in Bonn ) was a German politician, member of the Landtag and Bundestag ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school with the Abitur , Fell studied law and political science in Bonn , Freiburg and Cologne . He passed the first and second state exams and received his doctorate in 1964. jur. He then worked as a judge, most recently a regional judge, at the Mönchengladbach regional court . From 1972 until 1977 he worked as a consultant in the legal department of the Association of German Banks in Cologne. He then worked as corporate counsel and counsel for various banks. From 1992 until his death he was managing director of a holding company. Fell was married and had six children.

In addition, he was temporarily a member of the Joint Synod of the Dioceses in the Federal Republic of Germany.

In 1964 Fell became a member of the CDU. He was represented in numerous party bodies. From July 26, 1970 to May 29, 1985 Fell was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituency 006 Erkelenz and 006 Heinsberg II. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1987 until his death on December 5, 1996. He was particularly involved in family policy and, together with Bernhard Jans, published a book on family suffrage.

He was a member of the city council of Wegberg from 1969 to 1985, and from 1972 to 1985 he was mayor there .

Fell was a holder of the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class.
