Karl Heinz Henksmeier

Karl Heinz Henksmeier (born April 23, 1922 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ; † May 14, 2012 in Cologne ) was a German business economist and rationalization specialist for the retail sector .

Life

Henksmeier studied business administration for graduate in business administration and a doctorate in 1952 at the Institute for Trade Research at the University of Cologne . The center of the 1950 year-onset rationalization of the retail industry and the advance of self-service was in 1957 initiated the establishment of the ISB Institute for self-service and inventory management eV (later EHI Retail Institute ) in Cologne, whose director Henksmeier was, in 1985 he became an honorary member of the Board. In 1968 he was the founder and editor of the magazine Dynamic in Retail . In 1966, Henksmeier co-founded the EuroShop capital goods fair in Düsseldorf and was its president until 1997, after which it was honorary president.

Henksmeier scientifically accompanied the establishment of Herbert Eklöhs self-service stores .
