Karl Heldrich

Karl Ferdinand Heldrich (born August 28, 1900 in Munich ; † September 5, 1939 ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

Heldrich studied at the St. Thomas School in Leipzig . After graduating from high school, he went to war as a flag boy. Then he studied a. a. at Heinrich Siber law and graduated as Dr. jur. at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . During his studies he became a member of the Association of German Students in Leipzig . From 1924 to 1928 he worked as a private lecturer for Roman law and civil law at the law faculty of the University of Leipzig . In 1928 he became a regular full professor . In 1930 he got a position as a full professor in Jena for Roman and civil law. At the same time he was a member of the Higher Regional Court and thus an associate judge at the Thuringian Higher Regional Court . Later he was a member of the contract law committee of the Academy for German Law . In 1939 he entered the war as a first lieutenant in the reserve and died as acting company commander in Poland as a result of a serious wound.

His father was the judge Albrecht Heldrich (1862–1928), his son the law professor and rector of the LMU Munich Andreas Heldrich (1935–2007).
