Karl Hermann Ritter

Karl Hermann Ritter (born April 24, 1931 in Cologne , † February 27, 2006 ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Karl Hermann Ritter attended schools in Berlin, East Prussia, Alsace, Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia and graduated from school with a secondary school leaving certificate. From 1949 to 1951 he attended the higher commercial school in Essen and from 1951 did a commercial apprenticeship in the paper wholesale trade. After internships in a paper factory and printer, he worked as a commercial clerk until 1961. He became a member of the works council and was chairman of the works council for several years. From 1962 he was a traveling salesman and from 1966 an independent sales representative. In 1970 he invented the notepad together with his brother Johannes Andreas Ritter. The brothers then founded a paper-processing printing company. Since 1969 Karl Hermann Ritter was severely disabled due to illness ( Bechterew's disease ) and the consequences of an accident. He was married and had three children. His son Hermann Ritter is a writer, as is his grandfather of the same name .

Karl Hermann Ritter had been a member of the SPD since 1955 and was chairman of the SPD local association in Darmstadt-Eberstadt from 1967 to 1984 . From 1981 to 1984 he was a city councilor in Darmstadt, and since October 13, 1983 a member of the Hessian state parliament for the constituency of Darmstadt-Stadt II . On April 4, 1995, he resigned from the state parliament after three electoral terms. In 2004 he was elected honorary chairman of the SPD local association in Eberstadt.
