Karl Jakob Friedrich Hildenbrand (born January 30, 1864 in Pforzheim , † September 4, 1935 in Hamburg ) was a German SPD politician .

Life and work

After attending the community school in Pforzheim, Hildenbrand completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter from 1880 to 1883. He then worked as a journeyman in various places in Germany and Switzerland . From 1892 to 1902 he was editor of the Swabian Tagwacht . He was involved in the German Association of Book Printers . From December 1, 1918 to 1924, he was the Württemberg envoy to the Hanseatic cities in Hamburg and to the German Reich . After the National Socialists ' seizure of power ' in 1933, he was arrested and released after five months without charges being brought against him.

Political party

Hildenbrand was a member of the SPD and belonged to the state executive committee of the party in Württemberg.

Hildenbrand was a member of the state parliament in Württemberg from 1900 to 1913 . From 1903 to 1918 he was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Württemberg 1 Stuttgart , which he won with an absolute majority. In 1919/20 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly . Then he was again a member of the Reichstag until November 1932 .
