Karl Joachim Sibeth

Karl Joachim Sibeth (born October 4, 1692 in Marlow , † November 1, 1748 in Danzig ) was a Lutheran theologian and clergyman.

Life

Karl Joachim Sibeth was the son of the Lutheran preacher Heinrich Sibeth (1626–1707) at the town church of Marlow . After attending the Rostock grammar school, he studied theology at the universities of Rostock and Leipzig . He was promoted to Dr. Theol. PhD. After completing his studies, he first gave lectures at the University of Rostock and was then appointed rector of the cathedral school in Güstrow . In 1725 he became pastor at the St. Marien Church and member of the consistory in Stralsund . In 1737 Sibeth was appointed to the Marienkirche in Gdansk , where he worked from April 1, 1737 until his death as the main pastor and senior of the city's ministry .
