Karl Johannes Wieding
Karl Johannes Friedrich Wilhelm Wieding (born September 1, 1825 in Tondern ; † October 24, 1887 in Kiel ) was a German law scholar and university professor .
Life
Wieding was the son of a lawyer who died in 1850 and later a court clerk in Tondern. He passed his Abitur at the Hadersleben grammar school . He began his law studies at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel in 1846 and became a member of the Corps Saxonia Kiel in 1846 .
In the Schleswig-Holstein War (1848-1851) he fought in the Schleswig-Holstein Army from 1848 , most recently as a second lieutenant . After the (lost) war he continued his studies at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . After the exams he was first secretary in Flensburg , but had to give up this position because of his German attitude, which contradicted the Danish administration. He was in 1857 at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin to Dr. iur. PhD . In 1861 he followed the call of the University of Greifswald as full professor of law. In 1867, three years after the (victorious) German-Danish War , he moved to Kiel University as a professor . In 1880 he became its rector .
