Karl Kletke

Karl Eduard Kletke (* December 1813 in Breslau ; † November 16, 1889 in Berlin ) was a statistician and historian .

Life

Karl Kletke was the son of the businessman Carl Heinrich Kletke and his wife Josefa Schiller and was a brother of the educator Caesar Albano Kletke and a cousin of the writer Hermann Kletke .

He was a statistician in the Federal Chancellery in Berlin and later a statistician and historiographer in the royal state ministry in Berlin.

Kletke lived in Berlin since the 1850s. As a historian, he had made a name for himself primarily as an expert on the von Bismarck family history . Shortly before his death, he gave his source collection with over 1000 numbers from the years 1270 to 1875 to the Secret State Archives in Berlin. He died single and last lived in Berlin, Tempelhofer Ufer 1a.
