Karl Klimsch (painter)
Karl Klimsch (born January 15, 1867 in Frankfurt am Main , † 1936 ) was a German painter and graphic artist. He came from the Klimsch family of artists and entrepreneurs in Frankfurt and was the eldest son of the artist Eugen Johann Georg Klimsch and Anna Helena Burkhard, his brothers were the painter Paul Klimsch and the sculptor Fritz Klimsch .
He first studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Gabriel von Hackl . Afterwards he was taught by Ferdinand Keller at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe . Finally he learned at the Grand Ducal Saxon Art School in Weimar with Max Thedy . Karl Klimsch mainly painted portraits . He was a professor at the Reimann School in Berlin and in 1896 he designed the logo of the Schultheiss brewery .
