Karl Klunzinger

Karl Christoph Friedrich Klunzinger (born March 21, 1799 in Ebingen ; † March 26, 1861 in Stuttgart ) was a German pastor , writer and local researcher.

Life

Klunzinger went to school in Beilstein and Lauffen am Neckar . From 1813 to 1817 he attended the monastery school in Schöntal and from 1817 studied at the Tübingen monastery . In 1819 he received his doctorate in philosophy. After his time as a tutor at the monastery seminar in Maulbronn , he took over the position of pastor in Güglingen in Württemberg in 1832 . In 1847 he gave up his ministry and moved to Stuttgart as a private scholar and writer .

Klunzinger gained particular fame through his historical treatises on Maulbronn Monastery and the Zabergäu .

In 1841 he founded the antiquity association in Zabergäu , a predecessor of today's Zabergäu association.

Karl Klunzinger's sons were the tropical doctor and zoologist Carl Benjamin Klunzinger and the railway and hydraulic engineer Paul Klunzinger .
