Karl Kreutzberg

Karl Kreutzberg (born February 15, 1912 in Düren , † August 13, 1977 ) was a German handball player .

Kreutzberg was a trained butcher. He started playing handball at Germania Düren and later moved to VfB Aachen. As the third goalkeeper behind Heinz Körvers and Heinrich Keimig , he was Olympic champion with the German national handball team at the Summer Olympics in Berlin in 1936 . Kreutzberg is still called the best goalkeeper in handball today.

In total, Kreutzberg played three international matches in the course of his career. Kreutzberg lived in Düren . In 1953 he was carnival prince in his place of residence.
