Karl Nagel (politician, 1928)

Karl Nagel (born August 26, 1928 in Raesfeld ; † May 14, 2013 in Borken ) was a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school , interrupted by labor , military service and imprisonment, he passed the Abitur examination in 1950 . He then studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the University of Münster and then pedagogy at the Pedagogical Academies in Oberhausen and Münster. After passing the exams for teaching at elementary schools, he worked in the school service. From 1961 he was the rector of the Catholic elementary school in Velen , the later Max-von-Landsberg secondary school, at which he was acc. State legal status law in 1975 remained. In 1980 he resigned entirely from office in accordance with the North Rhine-Westphalian Parliament's Act. Nagel had been a member of the CDU since 1946. He was active in numerous party committees, so u. a. 1963 to 1968 deputy chairman and 1968 to 1974 chairman of the Borken district association, he was also district chairman of the CDU Münsterland. He was also a member of the German Association of Officials from 1954.

From 1964 to 1994, Nagel was a member of the district council of the Borken district and chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group without interruption. From July 24, 1966 to May 31, 1995 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituencies 081 Borken-Bocholt (6th to 8th electoral term) and 092 Borken II (9th to 11th electoral term).

Nagel was married and had five children.
