Karl Nicolai

Karl Friedrich Nicolai (born August 11, 1839 in Gaildorf ; † September 2, 1892 in Gundelsheim ) was a German mayor and politician .

Life

After the death of the Löwensteiner Stadtschultheissen Karl Friedrich Troll in November 1868, Nicolai, Troll's long-time assistant, was elected as his successor. He took office on May 19, 1869.

In 1876 Nicolai ran in the constituency of Weinsberg for the Chamber of Deputies of the Württemberg Land estates and won the mandate. He succeeded his mayor's predecessor Troll, who had represented the constituency for 27 years until his death. Nicolai belonged to various commissions in the chamber.

In April 1881 Nicolai was appointed official notary in Sontheim , based in Heilbronn . He therefore resigned his mandate on May 21, 1881. The Wüstenrot merchant Karl Rettich won the necessary replacement election .

Later Nicolai was the city councilor of Biberach an der Riss . He died in Horneck Castle in Gundelsheim .

In 1885 Nicolai married Bertha Schütz (1860–1938). The marriage resulted in a child.
