Karl Pallas

Karl Franz Pallas (born May 30, 1860 in Zeitz ; † March 12, 1933 in Naumburg ) was a German Protestant pastor and local researcher.

Life

Pallas attended the city ​​high school in Halle from 1870 to 1879 and studied Protestant theology at the Friedrichs University . After brief activity at the Pforta State School and at the Domgymnasium Naumburg , he passed the first theological exam in 1883 and the second in 1895. From 1885 to 1886 Pallas was a member of the Konvikt in Magdeburg . In 1887 he took the philological state examination. On June 27, 1887 he became archdeacon in Herzberg (Elster) , where he stayed until April 1913. Pallas then took over the pastor's position in Zwochau , which he administered until his retirement in 1930.

Karl Pallas was co-founder and chairman of the Association for Church History of the Province of Saxony and Anhalt . On October 31, 1917, he was awarded an honorary doctorate in theology from Friedrichs University.
