Karl Philipp (born May 2, 1901 in Wittenweiler ; † July 21, 1966 in Murrhardt ) was a German farmer and politician ( NSDAP , CDU ).

Life

Philipp completed an agricultural training and later worked as an independent farmer in Wittenweiler. He was mainly concerned with raising cattle and was involved in the cooperative system . From 1925 he was a member of the NSDAP, to which he initially belonged until 1926 and which he rejoined on May 1, 1933. From 1938 to 1939 he was head of the NSDAP local group in Blaufelden. In 1933 he was appointed district farmer leader in the Oberamt Gerabronn and in 1934 district farmer leader for Hohenlohe-Franconia . From 1935 to 1945 he took over the management of the main department III (market) of the state farmers' union Württemberg in the Reichsnährstand based in Stuttgart . In addition, from 1933 to 1945 he was chairman of the state association of Württemberg cattle breeders and the Franconian-Hohenlohe Fleckviehzuchtverband, based in Schwäbisch Hall . As a member of the SS , he was SS-Untersturmführer since 1938 . In 1939 he was promoted to SS-Obersturmführer .

After the Second World War , Philipp was interned by an American military authority in May 1945 and taken into custody until November 1947. In the course of denazification , he was classified as a “minor offender” in a court proceedings in March 1947 and sentenced to a fine of 15,000 Reichsmarks and 90 days of special labor.

After 1945 Philipp was chairman of the committee for animal breeding (cattle department) of the German Agricultural Society and acted as a judge at DLG shows. From 1952 to 1966 he was chairman of the working group of Baden-Württemberg animal breeding associations and from 1958 to 1966 chairman of the Württemberg and Baden-Württemberg associations for milk performance tests.

Philipp joined the CDU and was elected to the district council of the Crailsheim district. From 1952 to 1953 he was a member of the state constituent assembly and then until 1960 for the constituency Crailsheim member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg .

On July 21, 1966, he died of heart failure while on a train ride on the Crailsheim to Stuttgart railway line .
