Karl Schmidt (politician, 1846)

Karl Schmidt (born December 1, 1846 in Gorkau , Schweidnitz district , † January 7, 1908 in Breslau ) was a brewery owner and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Schmidt attended the secondary school 1st order in Rawitsch until after passing the high school diploma. He then devoted himself to mechanical engineering, learned the practical operation of the brewery and attended the agricultural school in Weihenstephan in Bavaria. In 1867 he took over his father's brewery. In 1867/68 he served as a one year old , took part in the 59th Regiment in the Franco-German War in 1870/71 and became a reserve officer during the same period. He was an alderman of the city of Rawitsch, a member of the district committee, the district committee, the provincial state parliament . In a by-election on December 4, 1900, he was elected to the Prussian House of Representatives, to which he belonged until 1908. He was also the holder of the Red Eagle Order IV class , the war memorial from 1870/71 and the anniversary medal.

From 1903 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency administrative district Posen 6 ( Fraustadt , Lissa ) and the German Reich Party .
